Workshop on Scientific Research Publication Plan – December 1, 2022
On December 1st, 2022 researchers from the project held the first of two Scientific Research Publication Plan (SRPP) workshops.
The SRPP is a document that organizes the activities needed to achieve specific publication objectives and delineates the main publication activities.
The workshop was conducted by the researchers from Politecnico di Torino (POLITO) and held in hybrid format in Tiranë, Albania at POLIS University with the participation of 21 participants from all project partners.
It began with an Open Discussion aiming at exchanging ideas by all the members on the publication plan including the edited book and six scientific papers, the Dissemination, Communication and Exploitation (DCE) Strategy, the availabilities for the teaching exchange, and the journal upgrading.
It then proceeded with a dynamic scientific publication framework being introduced which simulated an actors’ map approach in order to drive the discussion on the publication plan.
The workshop continued with a discussion regarding the Edited Book Co-design Process. This targeted 7 objective questions which all aimed at collecting a thorough perspective of the inputs of all the participants, such as: What should be the main scope (Suggestion for Book Title and General Scheme)?, What the book should include?, Who are going to be the book editors?, Which is the most appropriate editor publisher?, Who is going to contribute to Authorship?, How long the edited book should be? and What timeline do we have and how to manage the book drafting?. Having this interactive process allowed the participants to share their ideas and comments, showing how all partners could better co-deign the publication plan of the Edited Book.
It progressed with the Scientific Papers’ Publication Co-Designing Process, for which all participants gave responses to seven questions, such as Who is going to draft the 3 joint papers?, What should those papers address?, What will be the main content of regional country organization papers?, etc.
Throughout the co-designing workshop, open discussions and online activities all researchers were able to agree upon the focus of the Edited book and the general outline, the timeline for sending the proposal of the Edited Book, the themes of the scientific papers, the working groups, the crosscutting themes of the scientific papers, the general guidelines for the teaching exchange plans and availabilities and the list of possible target journals for the publications.
These initial results will be compiled in the Scientific Research Publication Plan by POLITO and all discussions and results prepared in Tirana will feed the second workshop that will take place in January 2023 in Skopje, which aims the finalisation of the Scientific Research Publication Plan.
